My photography subject matter has been vast, but what I have loved most has been jazz photography. As a jazz lover, it’s a great fit, as I am able to capture what I feel, as well as what I see. I tend to capture images at the moments I am most touched by the music, which means I shoot a lot! I have been blessed to have opportunities to not just photograph, but also to get to know many legendary jazz musicians. Many of my jazz subjects have transitioned to a higher stage, which makes the opportunity to have known them that much more meaningful. I don’t have them around, but I have great images and great memories. That’s what photography is all about, after all.
As a photographer I often see beauty in things that may go unnoticed or unappreciated by others. Being able to see the beauty in little things is what makes photography, as well as life, pretty special.
