Another Day!

Hallelujah! I woke up again today!
I get another day of breathing air.
I’m going to jump up and celebrate.
Another day with others I can share.
I’m going to smile at everybody,
I’m going to shake somebody’s hand,
I’m going to give someone a hug,
because, indeed, I understand.
This day of living is a gift.
I’m going to get on up and live it.
There is nothing in the rules
that says, to me, God has to give it.
I’ll take the chance while it is here
to enjoy this precious treasure.
How many days I have remaining
is impossible to measure.

I know my days are numbered,
I just hope my number’s high.
I have a lot yet to accomplish.
This day won’t pass me by.
As I face this day and others
I will not be feeling down.
I will celebrate the blessedness
of this new day I have found.
If the encounters I experience
are good or bad, I still can say,
Hallelujah!
I woke up again today!
